I am looking for The Truth. I notice that my personal truth changes over time, as does others'. This is a good thing because it means that we are all seeking The Truth, The Universal Law which does not change.
An example of The Truth is “We are all Divine Beings having a physical experience.” This is a Universal Law of The Truth.
Some examples of my working, personal truths that may be The Truth are,
“The arc of the universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” Martin Luther King. In other words, humans err a lot, but are basically good. The understanding, the skill that needs to be honed, is developing a very acute ‘bull shit detector’. This is a life long journey of "trust but verify" As they say in the Middle East, “Trust in Allah but tie up your camel.”
“All power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” Lord Acton. During the known history of the human race so far, concentrated ‘power over’ others relentlessly emerges. The corrupted group of humans such as the city state of ancient times, the British empire, US empire, all, eventually centralize control, become rigid and fall apart. However, as the eons pass, we do see justice emerging in small, bright fragments. For me, as a student of history, I believe se started to see the beginning of justice in the flawed but somewhat functional court systems in the western world. More recently, I see much more functional justice in the emergent, restorative or circle justice practices. These are being brought forward by our indigenous fellow humans and we are learning. It is certainly an improvement on the court system.
